La Feria Internacional de los Pueblos
It is a fair in which Fuengirola celebrates the participation of many countries. It is being held in El Recinto Ferial (Fair Compound), during the month of April. It is worth to come and see it. You can find yourselves visiting different countries in each of the stalls set throughout the compound and enjoying their culture, dance, music and food….. These stalls are organized by the people of each of the countries participating and who now days live in La Costa del Sol.
Easter
Is the celebration of the most famous holy Week in the Spanish-peaking world. Mayor processions are held in Malaga Capital. These are also, the first days to enjoy the beach season.
Las Fiestas de San Juan (Saint John Hollyday)
The celebration of Saint John is very famous throughout the province of Malaga and a magic night in Fuengirola. The night of the 22nd to the 23rd of June, big fires are held along the beaches and people have a bath at midnight in order to emulate the first baptism given by Saint John. It’s a night fill with concerts, parties and good times al night long.
Las Fiestas del Carmen (Saint Carmen Holiday)
On July, the people of the famous Fuengirola’s neighbourhood of Los Boliches, celebrate a beautiful procession along the sea shore of this typical fisher’s area. Then, they take the image of Saint Carmen to a boat that is waiting on the shore and taken by sea to the Fuengirola Port, where is put ashore and carried back to Los Boliches to its church.
Music and Dance International Festival
It is held in the “Sohail” Castle and last throughout the months of July and August.
Fuengirola Fairy
It is one of the mayor events in town. It last from October the 6th till the 12th, every year and is held in the Fairy Compound.
Stalls are open throughout the compound with typical Spanish music, food, drinks and dance,……..lots of dance!
There is also an excellent exhibition of Spanish horses passing by the fairy streets where people are dressed up in typical flamenco clothes. |
